England Box Lacrosse, founded 2001

Men’s European Champions 2022 and 4th in the world since 2019.Women ranked 5th in the world following the 2024 World Championships.

The England Box Lacrosse team exists in order to provide an opportunity to elite lacrosse players, a chance to represent England on the national stage.

Walt Christianson

Men’s Head Coach

Walt played with the Victoria Shamrocks (British Columbia, Canada) from 19 year old rookie through to 60.

Rob Gooch

Men’s General Manager

Rob’s first experience of box lacrosse was as a player in 2014. He continues to play, referee and coach box lacrosse at the grass roots level. As current president of the South of England Men’s Lacrosse Association (SEMLA), the regional body under England Lacrosse, he is responsible for competitions and development of field and box lacrosse in the South of England.

Chris Wainer

Men’s Assistant Coach

Chris first represented England Box at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships in Langley, BC in 2019. He then went on to become a member of the Gold medal winning squad at the European Box Lacrosse Championships in Hanover, Germany in 2022. Now coaching the next generation of players via UK Lacrosse Coaching.
