England 10-16 Germany (3-4, 2-3, 3-3, 2-6)
A tough opening game against the ever-improving Germany team. At times England struggled to match the speed and intensity of the German play. For most in the England team, the last high-intensity box game as this time last year at E-Box. For many of the German team, they are fresh off the NBLL season where they play the best Czech club teams and those from neighbouring countries. Errors crept into the England offence and the Germans finished strongly for a well deserved win.
England 5-12 Czechia (0-4, 4-5, 0-2, 1-1)
The Czechia team are always really tough opposition on their home floor at Radotin. They started at full speed and England were then always chasing the game. The performance was improved from the Germany game, especially in defence, ignoring the slow start in the 1st period. Few teams hold Czechia to only 12 goals when playing in Radotin. The focus for game three is to get the offence singing.
England 17-11 Tokyo (3-2, 5-3, 4-2, 5-4)
As per 2025, we finished E-Box with a win over the Tokyo team, a mix of Tokyo players, local Czech club players and a couple of guest players from North America. England always held the lead but Tokyo kept pace. Russell Farrer scored twice, his first goals for England. Noah Arnison replaced Jacob Brindle in goal early in the second half, making his England Box debut. His first shot faced alas found the next but from then on Noah had a great game with a 78% save ratio, not far behind Jacob’s 83% first half.
